Dalton Harper Signs With Skyline Records

Skyline Records is excited to announce that Missouri based bluegrass artist Dalton Harper has signed an exclusive recording deal with the label. Dalton is a gifted writer, singer, and guitar player who is beginning to make a profound mark in bluegrass.

Dalton is from the state of Missouri, and starting playing guitar and writing at a young age. He began his music career singing and playing guitar for the Harper Family Band. During their time, the Harper Family Band toured throughout the country and were one of the most recognizable and successful bluegrass gospel groups. Later, Dalton joined the bluegrass mainstay band "Cedar Hill" where he performed lead guitar and vocal duties.

As a prolific writer, Dalton truly writes honest, heartfelt songs in the sprit of all bluegrass and country music greats. Bluegrass artists that have benefited from his work include Kenny and Amanda Smith Band, Junior Sisk, the Harper Family, and Cedar Hill. Dalton already has one #1 single with his song "Everything to Me," which was beautifully recorded by Kenny and Amanda Smith. Everything to Me continues to be a mainstay on the Bluegrass radio charts.

Now, Dalton is now ready to emerge onto the scene and start his career as a solo artist. "This idea has been brewing for a while, and it was finally time for me to take the next step. My goal is to find a way to express myself, my songs, and my ideas through music. I love performing and I believe I have something unique and great to contribute to this music."

"I truly am excited to work with the team at Skyline. The label and myself share the same musical vision and creative ideas. They're giving me the space and the autonomy to create my own sound. It sure feels good when you have a team that trusts your ability as an artist, but also pushes and challenges you musically."

Dalton's album will be guided by producer Will McSeveney, who recently produced label mate Nick Dumas' upcoming album, including two singles currently released to radio.

According to Will, "I first met Dalton in Nashville a year or so ago. I heard him in a quiet room at a bluegrass festival just play and sing guitar solo. It was one of those moments when you drop what you're doing and watch. There are very few people that can sing with as much feeling as he does and equally match that feeling on guitar. I have the pleasure to get to know him over the past year and I really admire his musical opinions, ideas, and vision. We are already working on material, and I cannot wait to get it cut and released. I know it will be good."

Dalton will head into the studio this fall to record his first project. It is guaranteed to feature great songwriting and a top-tier team of musicians.
